• Question: Are joints affected by increased growth? I am currently a year away from my teenage years and have been at Secondary School for around three quarters of a year. I am (estimated) around 5'7" to 5'8". My knee joints I take are weak as when I squat down for more that three seconds they ache for around an hour to two hours. It usually aches behind my patella and increases when I straighten my leg and when I contract it. Would this pain be a cause of growth pains, weak joints or a lack of nutrients?

Not in my area of expertise however an abnormal growth can cause difficulties in their functioning and could be due to any of the reasons you mentioned, plus could be due to an infection or inflammation. You should see a doctor.
