I like to think that my work does help others. I help prescribers to prescribe antibiotics more effectively and I hope I’m helping to slow down Antimicrobial resistance. That will keep the Btibiorics that we currently have working for longer so, if you have an infection, there is a greater chance there will be a cure!

I hope my teaching helps my students to learn about the topics 🙂 For my research, any direct help to people is several years down the line yet. I’m looking at underlying mechanisms so just finding out what happens at the moment. If i find anything interesting, hopefully it will be useful to people developing new antibiotics in the future.
