      Hey, thanks for the question.

      For me the three things:

      1) I get to meet with and work with lots of passionate, interesting people.
      2) I have the opportunity to travel the world to places I would not be able to have visited otherwise.
      3) The feeling you get when you discover something completely new. To see something in a way that no one else has ever done before is really exciting and I think it is what drives a lot of us scientists!

I like working in the lab and doing experiments. It’s good to find out new things and try different things.
I also like working with my students in the lab and teaching them how to do experiments, it’s great seeing them get a concept and understanding what they’ve done in the lab and what it means.

I like giving presentations of my work and helping both GPs and the general public to use antibiotics more wisely. I really like meeting new people and having conversations about all things related to antimicrobial resistance.
