It depends on the individual drug. For antibiotics, hopefully they clear up the infection without any side effects. If some one has a bed reaction or they’re taken for too long/too high a level, antibiotics can cause stomach ache and diarrhaea. They can also had adverse effects against your microbiome (the ‘friendly’ bacteria that live on/in you) and when that happens to the gut microbiome it can have effects against digestion and immunity as a lot of the bacteria there help with those things. Loss of your microbiome can also make space for other bad bacteria to come in and make you sick again.

Depends on why you are taking them and at what dose. If you have an infection that is taking hold of your body then you need to take antibiotics. If you take an antibiotic when you don’t have an infection you kill all the good bacteria in your body for no good reason. The good bacteria help you get nutrients and minerals from your food.

The primary effect should be to clear the germs from our body, however if taken when that is not needed would have several side effects including drug resistance.
