I liked the practical experiments! I liked understanding how things work. My favourite experiment (if my memory can remember that far back) was blowing the lid off a tin with custard powder!? I think it was custard powder… either that or gun powder?!?!
It inspired me to keep looking for the answers!

I like that it looks to find answers to some important questions and helps to find cures and treatments fir disease. The thing that inspired me the most was the human genome project. I loved the idea that thry were going to find out a human’s DNA sequence and what they wanted to do with it. I really wanted to work on it but they had it all done by the time i finished university. But i do get to do bacterial DNA sequencing these days which is pretty cool. The amount of development in the technology is astounding too – from 3 billion dollars and 10 years for the first one to about 1000 dollars and less than a week to do one these days, and less than £100 and 1 day for a bacterial one.
