I’m sorry but I have no idea. I don’t like the idea of animal testing but understand that it is a reality if we are to have safe and effective drugs for both human and animal use.
A lot of the time they have to be killed to get the results. They’re well treated though. It can be quite expensive to produce a genetically modified mouse for example and they’re a valuable and vital tool so we want them to be well treated. A poorly treated animal can give bad results and invalidate a whole trial. Plus we scientists are generally good people and don’t want to see animals in pain.
